I made this Birthday card for my brother-in-law, who recently turned 50.
I was really inspired by the recent challenge at the 7dotstudio-blog - to create a project with different textures.
I decided to go with blue and turqoise (and black, of course...). All the papers I used are from 7dotstudio.
First I applied a layer of clear gesso all over the paper.. Then I used a stencil with modelling paste. The chipboard is painted with white gesso, and I've used lots of acrylic paint from Silks. I also used some Dylusions Ink Spray, and the edges of the papers are colored with black School Drawing Ink.
Lots of various metal pieces here and there, and then more gesso and paint. The cards matched the theme perfectly, since my brother-in-law loves to play cardgames.
"Gratulerer" is a piece of chipboard, and I dyed it with black ink. The numbers are from Tim Holtz.
Finally I splattered with black Glimmer Glam.
This was a very fun project to make. And I think it must be the heaviest Birthday card I have ever given to someone.....
