Challenge - More than Words - November 2018

I just love the challenges at More than Words, but I've just been to busy to enter lately.
But the november challenge was really up my alley, so here is my take on it.

I've mainly used papers from 7 Dots Studio, Northern Lights.
The word future made me pick up the lates school photo of my daughter. It just seemed to go so well with the theme.
First some gesso, then stamping, and building layers with paper and diecuts
Finally I got to use my starry circle from Joy! Crafts, and also added more stars to the page. I chose to use black stars, to really make them pop.
Quite often I add some gold details and splatters to my pages. This time I decided to use silver instead. So there is a silver thread under the photo, and also some silver half pearls.

Challenge at Create a Smile

The latest challenge at Create a Smile-blog was to create your own background. And this is my take on it

I used distress oxide ink to create the background, and then some stamps from AALL & Create. The radio, stars, and most of the text, are all from the Radio Rock stamp set.
Some splatters and some halfpearls is all I added.

April Challenge at Altenew

I do make lots of cards, but for some reason, I'm too lazy to post them in my blog...
So now I'll try to improve myself!

I made this card for the April Challenge at Altenew.
Altenew has become one of my favourite brands lately. Here I used their stamps and coordinating dies (Trigonometry and Happy).
I also used their ink when stamping the word 'happy'. The smaller sentiments are embossed in white.
Some of the triangles and the text are attached with 3d-dots.
I was planning on using some dots or sequins as well, but I kind of liked the clean and graphic look.

Challenge - More Than Words - February

This is my take on the February Challenge at More Than Words. The assignment was word inspiration: Forever and creative inspiration: Hearts.
I decided to take a slightly different approach than my original plan (using wedding pictures...), and make a page about my favourite band. Something I've been planning to do for a long time.
The photo was taken by me at a Metallica-concert in 2015.
The papers are mainly from 7 Dots Studio. I first sketched a big heart, then glued strips of old bookpages, and finally used my sewing machine.
I added some clear gesso to the page, before using a pencil + water to create som shade around the heart.
Distress Oxide + water to add some blue color, and then lots of stamping, using stamps from Carabelle and Prima.
The stars are made with metallic tape and embossing folders.
Layers of paper behind the photo, combined with chipboard from SnipArt, punchinella, and die cuts from Sizzix.
The word 'forever' is a Dymo strip, and 'Rock!' is created the same way as the stars, using a die from Spellbinders.
The last embellishments are actual picks and buttons from Metallica, and the bracelet from the concert.

I had so much fun making this page. And since I'm also going to their show in Krakow in April, there might be new photos to use...

Challenge - Mixed Media Place - January

My first page this year, and the current challenge at Mixed Media Place really got me inspired.
I decided to go with the winter images, and use a photo of my girls playing in the snow. They were so happy when we finally got some snow this winter.
Originally, I wanted to use blue/green colors, but somehow I ended up with pink. That just went better with the photo.
Papers are from 7 Dots Studio, Northern Lights collection.
I first used mesh and tissue tape, then covered the bakground with a thin layer of gesso.
When it was dry, I added Distress Oxide mixed with water. And then lots of random stamping, using stamps from Prima and Stampendeous.
Lots of layers behind the photo, including some glitter thread.
The title is a die from Altenew, and I cut it in black foam.
The gorgeous border of snowflakes is a chipboard from Snip Art.
Finally I added splatters and some sequins. The page is really sparkling, but that is difficult to show in the photos :-)
